Select Setapp applications now provide standalone monthly, yearly, and one-time purchase options, expanding user flexibility.
Evolution of Setapp’s Offerings
MacPaw launched Setapp in January 2017 with over 60 Mac apps available for a flat $9.99 monthly fee. Nearly a decade later, the platform supports iOS and web apps, boasting more than 240 titles.
New Standalone Purchase Model
Users can now access individual subscriptions or one-time purchases for apps like Bartender, Downie, AlDente Pro, CleanMyMac, Moonlock, and Gemini 2. These options include monthly, yearly, and perpetual licenses.
Importantly, single-app plans require only a Setapp account—no full subscription needed. Over 60 apps participate initially, with more joining regularly.
Future Expansion Plans
MacPaw aims to extend these options to apps outside the Setapp catalog later this year. The service also features a free seven-day trial for new users.
