Rep. Nancy Mace allegedly berated and cursed at law enforcement officials tasked with escorting her via Charleston Worldwide Airport in South Carolina on Thursday, allegedly saying they have been “[expletive] incompetent,” in response to an incident report.

Based on a police incident report, officers with the Charleston County Aviation Authority Police Division have been assigned to fulfill the Republican congresswoman at 6:30 a.m. Thursday to escort her from the curb to her flight. The officers have been advised she can be arriving in a white BMW on the ticketing curb space.

At round 6:35 a.m., they have been advised she was operating late and so they stored ready. Based on the report, the officers by no means noticed the automotive arrive.

Surveillance video from the airport obtained by CBS Information by way of the Freedom of Info Act reveals Mace arrive at a sidewalk entrance in a dark-colored sedan round 6:50 a.m. Nobody else was seen within the automobile.

Round 7 a.m., the officers have been knowledgeable that Mace, 47, was on the entrance for the Recognized Crewmember program – a trusted entry lane overseen by the Transportation Safety Administration and meant for flight crew members. A separate surveillance video from the airport appeared to indicate Mace on the TSA safety checkpoint talking with airport officers.  It took about seven minutes from the time Mace first appeared on the TSA entrance to when the escorting officers arrived, in response to the video.

When the officers met Mace to escort her, they stated she “started loudly cursing and making derogatory feedback to us and in regards to the division. She repeatedly said we have been ‘(expletive) incompetent”‘ and ‘that is no strategy to deal with a (expletive) US Consultant’,” the report states.

“She additionally stated we’d by no means deal with (U.S. Sen.) Tim Scott like this,” the officer tasked with escorting Mace says within the report.

Police stated Mace allegedly cursed and complained on the officers and into her cellphone throughout your complete stroll to her gate. After she boarded her flight, an airline worker and a number of other different TSA brokers stated they have been shocked and upset by her conduct on the safety checkpoint and gate, the officer says within the report.

“Some other particular person within the airport performing and speaking the way in which she did, our division would have been dispatched, and we’d have addressed the conduct,” the officer stated within the report.

On X, Mace appeared to reply to a part of the story, sharing the surveillance video displaying her arrival on the airport, adopted by her standing within the TSA screening space “with no safety.”

“And for the FAKE NEWS: That is the doorway ALL Members of Congress use on the airport,” she wrote. “Are you going to put in writing that Senators Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott use the identical entrance or no?”

The congresswoman’s director of operations, Cameron Morabito, advised CBS Information in a brief assertion on Saturday that “apparently, merely arriving at an airport makes headlines if you happen to’re main the race for governor.

“We’re pressured to take the Congresswoman’s security extraordinarily critically. After the world watched Charlie Kirk’s assassination, the threats towards her have solely intensified,” the assertion stated. “Our safety procedures are primarily based solely on official security considerations, and any try and politicize this actuality is each harmful and reckless.”

Morabito’s assertion didn’t deal with the alleged feedback made by Mace to the police escort officers.

Mace first got here to Congress in 2021 and has gained recognition as a GOP firebrand in latest months after shifting positions in recent times. She launched her marketing campaign for governor of South Carolina in August.
