Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes savored a light moment at a friend’s wedding in Texas while continuing his recovery from a severe ACL injury sustained at the end of the last NFL season.
Stylish Appearance at the Celebration
Mahomes attended the nuptials with his wife, Brittany, who turned heads in a pale pink dress featuring a deep slit on the left side, accentuating her legs. She posed for photos with the bride, Kate Van Wyk. Patrick complemented the occasion with a pale blue button-down shirt, dark blue pants, and white sneakers. In images shared on Brittany’s Instagram, he donned a brown cowboy hat and enjoyed a Coors Light, with no knee brace in sight—a promising sign of his rehabilitation progress.
Ahead of Schedule in Rehab
Initial projections suggested Mahomes would miss much of the upcoming NFL season, particularly the early weeks. However, NFL insider Jay Glazer indicates the star quarterback is recovering faster than anticipated.
“His pain threshold is different, his work ethic is different,” Glazer stated on the Dan Patrick Show. “So at first they were like, ‘Oh, you know, start of the season.’ I would probably hedge on him being [back] sooner than that. By far. Because he just attacks things.”
Glazer credits Mahomes’ swift decision to undergo surgery before significant swelling as a key factor. “The initial reports were kind of on the fringe there, but I want to tell you, Patrick’s different,” he added. “He got (the surgery) before it swelled up. So, that was on a Tuesday. I believe it was either Thursday or Friday that week, he was already in the Chiefs’ training room doing rehab. And he had already got his knee bending at 90 degrees at that point. He’s just different, he heals differently.”
