Former President Barack Obama warned of “harmful tendencies” rising from the Trump administration, saying its insurance policies “put the liberties of all Individuals in danger.”

On X, Obama cited an interview with Ezra Klein of The New York Instances and a journalist on “The Ezra Klein Present,” throughout which they mentioned President Donald Trump’s menace to ship Nationwide Guard troops into New York and Chicago, the previous president’s hometown.

“This interview, which can be obtainable as a podcast, supplies a helpful overview of among the harmful tendencies we’ve been seeing in latest months relating to federalization and militarization of state and native police capabilities,” Obama wrote on X.

Trump has prompt launching a federal crackdown to fight crime in Chicago, related to what’s occurring in Washington, D.C.

Earlier within the week, Trump criticized Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson over town’s crime charge. The governor has stated he’ll resist any federal intervention.

“I say, ‘Mr. President, don’t come to Chicago. You’re neither wished right here nor wanted right here,”‘ Pritzker instructed reporters this week.
