Bully Ray has exposed a WWE mistake at Royal Rumble 2026. The premium live event took place last Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and saw some marquee bouts.
The PLE featured Gunther beating AJ Styles to end the Phenomenal One’s career and saw Roman Reigns emerge as the winner of the 30-man Royal Rumble match. The Tribal Chief eliminated five men from the match and threw the Ring General off the top rope at the end to win the contest.

However, the decision to have Gunther in the match has not gone down well with the Hall of Famer Bully Ray. Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, Bully said that Gunther should’ve been left out of the match entirely. He said the last image of the former World Champion from the event should have been his win over AJ Styles.
If I would’ve had a say, I would’ve voted no Gunther in the Rumble. I would want the last thing for the people to remember to be the defeat of AJ. Now, they’re going to show Gunther defeating AJ many times. They’re going to remind us of it. But you can’t remind us of Roman winning without reminding us of who he threw out last. So Gunther will always be involved in that reminder,” he said.

Bully Ray’s comments could imply that this booking made the 38-year-old WWE star look a little weak, especially after retiring Styles earlier in the night.
“You’ll see the visual of Roman eliminating Gunther, but you might not hear Gunther’s name; you’ll hear them talk about Roman winning,” he added.

This week on RAW, the Tribal Chief came out to address both Champions before deciding to pick the WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk as his opponent for WrestleMania 42.
Both stars traded verbal jabs in the ring before Reigns said that he is picking the Second City Saint because he hates him.
