WWE is on the road to the biggest event of the year, and one legend provided a shocking update, clearing the air on a scary rumor.
The Hardy Boyz, Matt and Jeff, are legends in the industry and dominated tag team divisions across the globe. The legendary WWE tag team is currently in TNA Wrestling, where they rule the tag team division as the TNA World Tag Team Champions.
Thanks for the submission!
There are times when a wrestler’s demise makes headlines and catches steam on social media. In most cases, these are false, and Matt Hardy recently cleared the air on the rumors of his and his brother’s apparent demise when they were set to be featured on TNA Wrestling.
While Hardy reacted in his broken gimmick, the response was real, and he shut down the rumors around his and his brother’s deaths, which were AI-generated and circulated on social media.
“They’ve tried to kill The Hardys off for years. Ladies and gentlemen, the rumors aren’t true. The Hardy Boyz are not dead because Matt and Jeff Hardy will not die. We’re both alive and well, and we’ll be featured tonight in the main event of TNA Impact,” Matt said.
Matt Hardy teases future WWE appearance
Last year, The Hardy Boyz returned to the Stamford-based promotion for the first time in years and appeared on the developmental brand. Jeff and Matt fulfilled their long-standing goal of dominating the division when they won the NXT Tag Team Championship from DarkState.
While they lost the titles in less than three weeks, the legendary tag team promised they would return to the company in the near future. In an interview with Real Appreciation in 2025, Matt and Jeff gave a glimpse of what’s next for the team in the coming year.
Matt, who is a former WWE United States Champion, stated that they signed a new deal with TNA Wrestling, which allows them to work with the Stamford-based promotion. The WWE legend also hinted that they could appear on the main roster, possibly at a premium live event in the future.
