A former WWE star called out Roman Reigns before the 2026 Royal Rumble in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Reigns outlasted 29 other stars to earn a ticket to the main event of WrestleMania 42.
Before the Rumble, Reigns appeared on The Pat McAfee Show. He was critical of WWE’s failure to create new stars after he dropped the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40. He also called out the roster for not stepping up in his absence, telling the “kids” to get over.
Thanks for the submission!
His quote was shared on social media, including X, formerly known as Twitter. Former LFG participant BJ Ray responded to one of the posts about Reigns’ remarks. He put the blame on creative and even volunteered to be part of it to make stars.
“You still need creative to pull trigger, Roman. I got completely over on my own, so much opportunity to build this no respect character. (They) should have had me backstage showing no respect to guys like you and Cody right after LFG 1. You need creative genius who can see a vision. I should be in the creative team,” BJ Ray tweeted.
Plenty of young stars had great nights in the Royal Rumble. Lash Legend and Sol Ruca stole the show in the women’s match, while Trick Williams, Oba Femi and Je’Von Evans were all impressive in the men’s Rumble.
Roman Reigns shares update on his health amid part-time schedule
In the same interview on The Pat McAfee Show, Roman Reigns was asked about his health over the past couple of years. Reigns has battled leukemia twice and continues to take medicine to keep it at bay.
“It’s been a tough couple of years for me, but at the same time, when you come off such a hell of a run, you gotta kind of just pump the brakes for a second. I got five children at home; we all wear those two important hats being a husband and a father. … I’m only 40 years old. With all the tech and all the information we have now, I feel like I’m 25 years old. So I’m still good to go,” Reigns said. [H/T SEScoops]
Roman Reigns hasn’t made a decision on which title he would challenge for at WrestleMania 42. The latest rumors suggest that he’s likely facing CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship.
