Carson Beck confirmed that he had a private meeting with Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike McCarthy at the 2026 NFL Combine. Once projected as a top NFL prospect, Becks poke with the Steelers as they evaluate potential quarterback options amid uncertainty over Aaron Rodgers’ future and the status of their current backups.
Scouts currently view Beck as a late Day 2 or early Day 3 pick. While he brings a background of strong college production, there are questions about his ability to help an entire offense. The Steelers, valued at $6.5 billion (per Forbes), are looking for long-term quarterback stability.

Carson Beck open to Browns reunion with Todd Monken at NFL Combine
Carson Beck addressed his transfer from the Georgia Bulldogs to the Miami Hurricanes, as well as the possibility of reuniting with Todd Monken and the Cleveland Browns at the NFL Combine.
After suffering a late injury in the SEC title game, Beck returned to college instead of entering the draft.
“When the injury happened, I was going to the NFL… When I decided to not go to the NFL and come back, I was going to go somewhere else,” Beck said. “There’s no bad blood. I love the University of Georgia.”
Beck, who played under Monken at Georgia, said he would be “super stoked” to reunite in Cleveland.
“He’s an amazing coach. I had the opportunity to talk with him a little bit the other day when I was done with all my interviews,” Beck said. “We walked and chatted for a little bit. I love Coach Monk. He’s an awesome coach and great guy.”
Monken recently said the Browns’ quarterback job will be an “open competition,” leaving the door open for a potential draft addition.
