Paul Skenes wasn’t playing for Team USA on Saturday against Team Great Britain in Houston, but his girlfriend, Olivia Dunne, was present to support him and the rest of the World Baseball Classic team. The social media personality gave a special tribute to the Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher with attire.
On Saturday, Dunne shared pictures of her outfit on her Instagram stories. She wore a white off-shoulder tube top with “US” etched in the flag’s colors in the front and “Skenes” stitched in the back. She paired the top with a pair of denim and a black kitten heel.

Later in the evening, she shared a clip that showed the Daikin Park jumbotron showing highlights of Skenes’ epic National League Cy Young-winning campaign last year. She was joined by Cincinnati Reds pitcher Kyle Nicolas’ wife, Ali Martin. Nicolas, who was traded by the Pirates to the Reds this offseason, was representing Team Italy in an earlier game on Saturday.

Team USA recorded a convincing 9-1 victory over the Brits. They were behind early when GBR leadoff hitter, Nate Eaton, hit a solo homer off starter Tarik Skubal. A five-run fifth inning for the Americans turned the tide. Kyle Schwarber and Gunnar Henderson drove in two runs each.
Later, Alex Bregman and Will Smith drove in three runs between the two of them on sacrifice flies and captain Aaron Judge also recorded an RBI-single. Clay Holmes got the decision on the mound.
Olivia Dunne’s special music tribute to describe Paul Skenes in USA colors
In a new TikTok shared on her account on Saturday, Olivia Dunne showed her beau, Paul Skenes, in Team USA’s uniform during their exhibition game against the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday. She was reminded of the Lynyrd Skynyrd classic “Free Bird” and patched the 2024 MOONLIGHT remix of the song to a video of Skenes.
Paul Skenes has described representing his country at the World Baseball Classic as a huge honor. The former Air Force Academy cadet will start for Team USA against Team Mexico on Monday. The win on Saturday was a perfect setup for their all-important clash. In the last edition, the Mexicans defeated the Mike Trout-led Team USA in the Pool Stage by an 11-5 margin.
