Mark Martin shared his reaction to Kyle Busch schooling his son, Brexton, and made a comparison to Max Verstappen’s upbringing. The Hall of Famer gave props to Brexton for being ‘tough enough’ to accept his father’s pointers.

NASCAR analyst Mamba Smith shared a brief interaction between the father-son duo, in which Busch pointed out that Brexton was a losing tenth upon corner entry. He made it clear that Brexton had much more car potential to gain and was firm in his critiques.

Brexton acknowledged the issue and listened to his father’s concerns, further underscoring his willingness to grow. Max Verstappen was similarly raised by an ex-Formula 1 driver, Jos Verstappen, who’s known for his tough and uncompromising approach to racing.

Mark Martin shared Smith’s post and noted that Brexton is on a similar path to Verstappen.

“Props to @KyleBusch for being tough enough to give this lesson. And props to @brextonbusch on being tough enough to accept the lesson. My prediction is with his mental toughness and a mentor like Kyle will could see a result similar to Max Verstappen.”

Kevin Harvick is also guiding his son Keelan to follow in his footsteps. Much like Kyle, Harvick competes alongside his son on many occasions. He recently beat Keelan during the 2026 Chili Bowl, and the two are up for a rematch Owosso Speedway in July.

Notably, Brexton Busch won the 2025 Golden Driller trophy at the Chili Bowl Nationals.

Mark Martin connects the dots on Tony Stewart’s return

Tony Stewart is all set to make his NASCAR return with the Fresh from Florida 250 at Daytona International Speedway. The comeback ride ends Stewart’s 10-year hiatus from the sport.

Mark Martin believes Stewart’s return has something to do with NASCAR’s new championship format.

“It all makes sense. This is a good time. It’s a huge win for the fans, a huge win. We’re so excited to have a smoke back in any race, a NASCAR race. So that’s, that’s really awesome. But, you know, I, I’m like you; I would be skeptical. I’m sure this, this format, you know, the points format, probably pleases him,” he said.

“I know he would be a 36-racer guy,” Mark Martin added, “but I also know that he’s, you know, he’s a very smart man, and he sees how hard it was to get where we even got, you know, on a format.”

Tony Stewart will ride Kaulig Racing’s RAM powered truck at the season opener. The one-off race might not be his last one of the year, as Stewart hinted at more during a recent media interview.

The truck that Stewart drives will see a rotating roster of all-star drivers throughout the year, and there’s apparently a trophy for the truck’s best perfromer. Stewart learned of this during the media interview, which prompted his response on future outings.
