The Maxx Crosby trade saga took another turn on Thursday, after the Las Vegas Raiders reportedly changed their mind on a potential move involving the five-time Pro Bowler. Crosby has been linked with plenty of teams in recent weeks, including the Chicago Bears, the Seattle Seahawks, the New England Patriots and the San Francisco 49ers.

The veteran defensive end is one of the most dangerous players in the league, and adding him to the roster would make an immediate impact on any defense. Months after the Raiders were adamant to move on from Crosby, the situation has reportedly changed. Insider Jordan Schultz reported that the Raiders are leaning toward one option ahead of free agency.

“Teams in the trade market have gotten the sense that the #Raiders are more open to the idea of trading Maxx Crosby, and it’s a situation that is only going to intensify,” he tweeted.

Many fans reacted to the report by saying the Raiders won’t ask too much for Crosby, while others speculated about where he would end up next.

“He’s out the door,” one fan said.

“Dallas cowboys are about to land him!!” another fan said.

“I think this is the Raiders way of saying ‘we’ve lowered our ask. Please come back!'” another fan said.

Speculation about his potential destination didn’t stop, while others predicted a strong market for Crosby.

“WAIT JORDAN HES BEING TRADED TO THE SEAHAWKS RIGHT?” one fan asked.

“If the Las Vegas Raiders are truly open to trade talks, the market could explode. Elite pass rushers like him rarely become available,” another fan said.

“If he’s really available, the bidding will get crazy,” another fan said.

Dallas Cowboys nearly completed a trade for Maxx Crosby

On Thursday, NFL insider Trey Wingo reported that the Dallas Cowboys were close to landing Crosby on Wednesday night, but other teams stepped in with a willingness to meet the Raiders’ asking price.

“Things are moving fast re Maxx Crosby. Last night Dallas thought they were close to a deal but since then other teams have raised the ante and potentially are offering the Raiders 2 1st round picks Expected Dallas to now shift their focus to Trey Hendrickson,” Wingo wrote.
