To the editor: I learn contributing author Joel Kotkin’s op-ed with dismay (“California was an ‘earthly paradise’ for Jews. Is it nonetheless?,” Oct. 30). He implies a number of occasions that failure to say Hamas’ atrocities whereas criticizing Israel signifies antisemitism. Actually? An estimated 66,000 lifeless Palestinians in response to the unspeakable assault that left 1,200 lifeless in Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. Everyone knows of that assault.

I’m Jewish and agree with those that say that Israel’s battle on Gaza is genocide. I’m not antisemitic. I’m towards Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s authorities, as are many who’re protesting its assaults on Gaza.

Susan Millmann, Venice

..

To the editor: I imagine blame for the latest unfair backlash towards something Jewish may be laid on the ft of Netanyahu. His wildly disproportionate response to the Hamas assault on harmless males, girls and youngsters has outraged fair-minded Individuals who usually are not into “Christian apocalyptic” pondering.

I believe it might have helped if main Jewish teams had publicly disavowed Netanyahu’s response. One other contributing issue to the hostility is the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s affect over our authorities, particularly in the case of Trump Republicans.
