Comedian Mo Gilligan, 37, offers rare glimpses into fatherhood, describing it as “the one part of life you never know about until you experience it.” He shared these thoughts on Elizabeth Day’s How to Fail podcast, highlighting his experiences with his two young children.
Embracing Fatherhood’s Unique Moments
Gilligan welcomed a baby with fiancée Taia Tulher last summer, keeping the child’s name and gender private. He also fathers two-year-old son Rudi from a past relationship with model Selina Christoforou.
One of his favorite aspects of parenting involves “bringing my children into my universe,” he explained. “They learn from me, they see it from me,” Gilligan said, emphasizing the real-time joy of watching them discover the world.
A Memorable First Haircut for Rudi
Gilligan recounted taking Rudi, who recently turned two, for his first haircut. “The barbershop is a place that I spent many a Saturdays” as a child, he recalled, where he absorbed adult conversations in a community hub for Black men.
“Seeing him scared, but also knowing he just grabbed onto me and I’m his universe,” Gilligan shared. “I’m bringing him into my universe… This is the universe and I’m going to show you how to do this and you’re learning in real time.” He called these “little gifts of life” truly exciting.
Family Updates and Engagements
The couple announced their baby’s arrival in September 2025. Gilligan proposed to Tulher, 28, after two years together, going all out for the romantic gesture. Sources close to the pair note their excitement about starting a family while living together in London, though wedding plans remain on hold amid parenting duties.
Rudi’s birth came in January 2024 following Gilligan’s brief romance with Christoforou, 35, whom he met online. She publicly addressed their co-parenting challenges in a TikTok video, claiming limited involvement from Gilligan in Rudi’s early life.
In response, during a November stand-up set in south London, Gilligan praised his son as “a very lovely boy” and his mother as “a good mum.” “I’m not here to disrespect. That’s the mother of my child,” he stated. He later shared a black-and-white video of quality time with the toddler.
