To the editor: Division of Homeland Safety spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin denies that the company is participating in racial profiling, calling the claims “disgusting and categorically FALSE” (“‘Scared to be brown’: California residents fearful amid immigration raids,” June 25).

Oh, please. Then inform me why Immigration and Customs Enforcement is concentrating on House Depot, farms, automobile washes and different locations the place there’s a massive Latino presence. I imagine what I see, not the lies that this administration is telling us. What’s disgusting is listening to of hardworking individuals being terrorized possible as a result of colour of their pores and skin.

..

To the editor: My Latino gardener and housekeeper aren’t scared in anyway. Why? As a result of they got here into the nation legally and adopted the foundations of process to turn out to be both a U.S. citizen or get hold of eligibility for a piece allow. Due to this fact, it’s only a matter of legality; by observing these guidelines, authorized immigrants and U.S.-born Latinos would by no means need to concern ICE raids.
