To the editor: Oh, nice information. President Trump plans to steer the planning of the 2028 Olympics and is already threatening to have the Nationwide Guard and navy on standby (“Trump names himself chair of L.A. Olympics process pressure, sees function for navy throughout Video games,” Aug. 5).

What else does he bear in mind? I foresee the U.S. workforce’s uniforms being the standard purple, white and blue with a MAGA overlay, and perhaps some gold too. The opening ceremony, filled with pomp and circumstance, might have Lee Greenwood and the Village Individuals performing and perhaps Sydney Sweeney using a white horse in her American Eagle denims. Trump will, in fact, be carrying the ultimate torch, as he’s as match as any of the athletes (haven’t his docs advised you?). He’ll denounce any non-American athlete who wins a medal as rigged and faux information, perhaps having Immigration and Customs Enforcement detain them.

Janet Cerswell, Rancho Cucamonga

To the editor: Within the Aug. 6 Los Angeles Occasions, along with the headline noting that President Trump will oversee the L.A. Olympics, I noticed a number of others that drew my consideration to points Trump is creating all over the world.

The Olympics is a time and place for unity via athletics. Athletes shouldn’t really feel concern over coming into a rustic that appears to disrespect anybody who isn’t a white American.

I might vote, proper now, to cancel the Olympics in Los Angeles.

Tracy Sprint, Oak Park

..

To the editor: My household and I don’t stay within the metropolis of Los Angeles, however we’re all large followers. We stay shut and cease by typically. That mentioned, it appears to me that having the sitting president of the USA lead the planning for the L.A. Video games is, fairly truthfully, not a good suggestion.

I suppose that it’s just about too late for town to beg off, or to ask for a raincheck for 4 years down the highway. I believe that the residents don’t have any say on this and, as an outsider, I can solely provide our neighbors in L.A. some swiftly whipped-up foreboding and trustworthy sympathy.

Doug Stokes, Duarte

..

To the editor: Yikes! Patrons, contractors and employees, beware.

When Trump takes over the Olympics, will he preside over a slide out of business, simply as he has accomplished with so a lot of his firms, and fail to pay everybody?

Robert D. Chickering, Laguna Seaside
