To the editor: Anybody who watched the video of landscaper Narciso Barranco being arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement brokers noticed that Homeland Safety Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin merely lied in her declare that minimal pressure was used (“Father of three Marines crushed by masked federal brokers, set to be launched from immigration facility,” July 11). Her suggestion that this middle-aged gardener with a garden edger someway posed a menace to half a dozen closely armed federal brokers is past preposterous. However that’s the soupe du jour of this administration day-after-day now: lie, double down on the lie, then accuse your accuser of getting a political agenda or being “faux information.”

Sure, Barranco entered America illegally within the ‘90s in search of a greater life — against the law, by the way in which, made simpler by a rustic that actively appeared the opposite means. He then proceeded to reside a life anybody could possibly be happy with, working arduous, paying taxes, having three sons within the Marines and by no means breaking one other legislation. We’re a nation of immigrants. It’s time to honor them reasonably than terrorize them.

Bart Braverman, Indio
