To the editor: As a 74-year-old with few pleasures left in life, I used to go to Dodger Stadium for the only function of throwing warning to the wind and indulging within the delicacy of a Farmer John scorching canine smothered with mustard and onions. However no extra. Employees author James Rainey is totally right when he writes that “followers have been grumbling since Farmer John stopped supplying the group’s signature scorching canines again in 2021” (“Dodger Canines style bleh. So what stadium meals choices received’t break the financial institution?,” Oct. 16). It’s me; I’ve been grumbling since 2021.
The brand new scorching canines are horrible. You couldn’t pay Joey Chestnut to eat one. Farmer John scorching canines, in the meantime, are the filet mignon of the new canine world and have been synonymous with the Dodger group since 1958. I had my first one at Dodger Stadium in 1966, when Don Drysdale was on the mound. The Farmer John scorching canines have a novel style, taste and texture that I all the time seemed ahead to throughout my visits to the stadium.
The brand new vendor has by no means been in a position to attain these heights. It’s stunning that the Dodgers are prepared to pay their gamers this 12 months roughly $321 million and so they simply couldn’t carry themselves to chop a take care of Farmer John. Carry again Farmer John; till then, I’ll root for the Dodgers at house.
