Vice President JD Vance took the stage on the Marine Corps’ 250th Birthday Ball in Washington, D.C., on Saurday, greeting a crowd of Marines in gown blues with a booming, “How we doing, Marines?”

He grinned because the ballroom erupted in cheers. “It’s so nice to be right here to have fun 250 years of america Marine Corps,” he stated, drawing loud applause.

“That, my mates, is what the Marine Corps does — it retains us trustworthy.”

Vance mirrored on becoming a member of the Marines as a 19-year-old recruit on the yellow footprints of Parris Island, South Carolina. 

“The Marine Corps has stored me trustworthy,” he stated. “It gave me nice coaching, it gave me a way of goal, and it gave me lifelong mates.”
