James Marsters and ex-wife Patricia Jasmin Rahman have finalized their divorce five years after announcing their split, Us Weekly can confirm.
The exes agreed on their divorce arraignment earlier this month, filing documents with the court on Tuesday, March 3. According to the files, obtained by Us, Marsters, 63, has been ordered to pay spousal support through the beginning of June.
Based on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum’s income of $16,000 a month, Marsters will pay Rahman, 39, $4,000 per month in support.
The filing also acknowledges that both parties “agree” that Marsters’ profession as an actor means his income fluctuates.
According to their agreement — which the exes agreed to in September 2021, seven months after she filed for divorce — Rahman will receive spousal support from her actor ex until “the death of either party,” Rahman’s remarriage, or June 1, 2026, depending on what comes first, per the docs.
As of now, Marsters has continued to maintain dependent health, dental and vision insurance coverage for Rahman.
Us previously confirmed in February 2021 that Rahman filed for divorce one week before the couple’s 10-year anniversary that January.
The former spouses were married on January 14, 2011, after Marsters proposed on a trip to Germany in May 2010. They separated in November 2020, according to court docs.
After Rahman filed for the dissolution of marriage in January 8, 2021, Marsters filed and served his response that March. It took nearly five years for the actor to finalize the details of their divorce.
According to their agreement, both Rahman and Marsters were awarded different business entities and monetary holdings.
Rahman gets to keep the 2012 Mazda, half of an IRA account totaling $150,068.11 and $27,619.11 that is from a separate account, according to the docs. She will also be allowed to keep her clothing, jewelry and other personal items.
Marsters will get to keep his 2012 Honda Accord Lx and their previously shared home in Los Angeles. The P.S. I Love You actor, however, must pay Rahman $118,983.50 in division of the property. Additionally, Marsters will maintain his multiple bank accounts.
Prior to his marriage to Rahman, Marsters was married to Liane Davidson. The pair split in 1997 after eight years together. Marsters and Davidson share one child, son Sullivan, who is now 29.
Marsters also raised his niece from the time she was 5 years old, whom he considers his daughter.
“I think that the payoff for parenthood is that I just got to love another human being as much as I love my kids,” Marsters told fans during the 2020 Wizard World Con. “Father’s Day is just a bust. You get socks or something. That’s not the payoff.”
He added, “The payoff is my heart opened. I experienced love on another level that I never understood was possible.”
