How to get Credits faster in Resident Evil RequiemWhere to buy weapons in Resident Evil RequiemEvery weapon you can get in Resident Evil RequiemSupply BoxStarter weaponsStory and explorationBonus weaponsBest weapon to buy early onBest upgrades/attachments to get

Resident Evil Requiem (RE9) is the newest chapter of the series, led by newcomer Grace Ashcroft (alongside a small playable segment featuring longtime veteran Leon Kennedy), where players return to Raccoon City. Unlike the previous entries of the series, where most of the weapons and upgrades were available at the merchant, Resident Evil Requiem uses a Credit-based economy tied to the players’ combat performances.

In this guide, we will break down how you can earn Credits and use them to get new weapons and upgrades that are necessary for your survival in RE9.

How to get Credits faster in Resident Evil Requiem

Credits are the primary currency in Resident Evil Requiem, and you earn them by killing enemies. Every zombie/infected monster you kill rewards you with some Credits. While conserving ammunition by running or sneaking past enemies can be tempting, in Resident Evil Requiem, that can lead to a slower progression. The game’s progression design encourages you to eliminate enemies and acquire the funds necessary for any future upgrades.

Sometimes, enemies will also drop Modules (Tracking Modules), which are special inventory items that convert into Credits when you redeem them at a Supply Box. Modules can drop with different rarities:

Legendary Modules can often drop from mini bosses, making them exceptionally valuable. Once acquired, exchange them at the Supply Box for a high amount of Credit.

If you are carrying any unwanted weapons, you can sell them under the third tab of the Supply Box. However, selling ammunition and healing items is not recommended, at least for the first run of the game, since your inventory is decently manageable in Resident Evil Requiem. Inventory upgrades are spread out across the map, making them a fun challenge aspect in the game.

  • Purchase new weapons

Best weapon to buy early on

Early investment in weapons should be a priority, especially given how action-heavy Leon’s section gets. Here are a few weapons you should get:

1) 900-Tac Shotgun

This variant of the shotgun is significantly stronger, holds eight shells, and has a higher stopping power. This makes the 900-Tac perfect as a panic weapon and for taking out crowds more efficiently.

2) Silencer 9 Combat Pistol

While stealth is not always required, taking out isolated groups using a silent weapon prevents you from alerting too many people and getting overwhelmed by crowds. The Silencer 9 also deals more damage than Leon’s base weapon.

Best upgrades/attachments to get

Attachment upgrades are the key to increasing the capability of your weapons. Upgrading weapons can offer the following boosts:

  • Increased damage output
  • Larger magazine size
  • Improved recoil and weapon control
  • Improved accuracy
  • Better handling

Here are some of the best attachments that you can get in Resident Evil Requiem:

  • PVD Barrel – Classic 70 rifle
  • Fortified Blade – Hatchet
  • Improved Grip – Hatchet
  • Weighted Grip – Requiem revolver
  • Ceramic Coated Barrel – 990-TAC
  • Carbon Tube Extension – 990-TAC
  • Add-On Suppressor – Silencer 9

Upgrading the Hatchet is of the highest priority, as it is your primary melee weapon. This allows you to parry incoming hits better and increases the weapon’s damage output. An upgraded Hatchet allows you to conserve ammunition much more efficiently.

For Leon, the primary way to increase his durability is to upgrade his Body Armor. Body Armor upgrades are extremely costly, with Level 1 costing 8,000 Credits and Level 2 costing up to 15,000 Credits.

Resident Evil Requiem rewards you for engaging enemies over sneaking around. With the right upgrade, you can take down infected enemies and survive boss encounters more efficiently.
