Highly effective windstorm topples dozens of energy poles throughout Las Vegas

A robust windstorm swept by Las Vegas, toppling dozens of energy poles throughout the town’s east aspect. Gusts of as much as 70 mph battered the valley in the course of the sudden monsoon storm on Tuesday (July 1), ripping up timber and plunging hundreds of houses into darkness. Footage from the scene reveals rows of energy poles mendacity throughout the street on Tropicana Avenue. In keeping with native media, round 30 poles have been snapped or knocked down alongside a one-mile stretch of Tropicana Avenue, between Sandhill Street and Japanese Avenue.
