Gordon Ramsay recently opened up about his overwhelming emotions during his daughter Holly’s wedding to Olympian Adam Peaty, revealing that the sight of her expensive gown brought him to tears.
Wedding Details and Family Tensions
Holly Ramsay and Adam Peaty exchanged vows in a lavish ceremony at Bath Abbey in December 2025, surrounded by family and a select group of celebrity guests. The event highlighted some family strains, as most of Adam’s immediate relatives, including his mother Caroline, were not invited. Only his sister Bethany attended to show support.
Caroline expressed deep hurt in the lead-up to the wedding, stating it felt like ‘they have cut my heart out’ and adding, ‘I don’t think they understand how much they have hurt me.’
Gordon’s Proud Moments and Social Media Tribute
Hours before the ceremony, Gordon shared a heartfelt social media post featuring photos of himself and Holly, including one where he kisses her cheek. In the caption, he wrote: ‘I’m truly so lucky being able to walk this beautiful bride down the aisle and gaining an incredible son-in-law @adam_peaty! I love you so much @hollyramsayy and couldn’t be a prouder Dad xxx.’
Appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show
During a guest spot on The Jennifer Hudson Show in the US, Gordon reflected on the day with warmth and humor. He joked about struggling to dance with the bride due to his size 15 feet but grew serious about his emotional response to the wedding dress.
‘I was very emotional, I was crying because I realised how expensive the dress was. That is when it suddenly hit me,’ Gordon shared.
The gown drew inspiration from Kate Middleton’s iconic Alexander McQueen dress from her 2011 royal wedding. Gordon continued, describing the profound impact of seeing Holly: ‘We have six kids, three girls, three boys. Her mother Tana is amazing. But seeing your daughter there for the first time when you come down [the stairs of the venue] and you just see this little girl just transform into this amazing lady it just gets you.’
Honeymoon Highlights
Following the nuptials, the couple jetted off for a luxurious honeymoon. They started at a high-end resort in Mauritius costing £6,000 per night before heading to Queensland, Australia, to enjoy the sunshine.
