Los Angeles County firefighters had been responding to a fuel line explosion in Castaic on Saturday, which prompted California Freeway Patrol to shut a portion of the 5 Freeway and the hearth division to order residents to shelter in place.

The shelter in place order, issued at 5:40 p.m., spans a lot of Castaic and advises residents to shut all doorways, home windows and vents, and shut off HVAC techniques.
By 6 p.m., the fuel firm had shut off each side of the damaged fuel line, however firefighters and a hazmat job drive continued to reply a residual leak.
The reason for the explosion is unknown.
