For Texas bakery, the standard vacation fruitcake is not any joke

CORSICANA, Texas — In a vacation filled with basic confections — sweet canes, gingerbread and sugarplums — there’s one which’s displaying up much less typically: fruitcake.

The bakery has delivered fruitcakes to celebrities, politicians and even made a cameo within the 1972 basic movie “The Godfather.” Collin Avenue is so assured in its confection that it even presents a money-back assure.

For patrons like Invoice Baxter, it’s all in regards to the nostalgia. “It brings again recollections of what was,” he stated. “It’s consolation.”
