New York Metropolis Mayor Eric Adams is anticipated to drop out of the mayor’s race on Sunday, sources inform CBS Information New York political reporter Marcia Kramer.
Adams departure would arrange a three-way race between Queens Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa to guide America’s largest metropolis.
The mayor beforehand blasted hypothesis that he would drop his reelection bid. In a Sept. 5 information convention, he stated he was “the one one that may beat [Zohran] Mamdani,” insisted he was remaining within the race, and referred to the Democratic frontrunner and former governor as “two spoiled brats.”
It has been a tumultuous 12 months for Adams — from a corruption scandal to criticism over his relationship with the Trump administration.
