A number of individuals have been wounded in an energetic shooter incident at Fort Stewart in Georgia on Wednesday, a U.S. official stated.

An individual is in custody, the official stated.

The variety of casualties was not instantly clear however victims are en path to the regional trauma heart, Memorial Well being College Medical Heart in Savannah, hospital officers instructed ABC Information.

Fort Stewart is about 40 miles southwest of Savannah.

The bottom initiated a lockdown after the incident on the 2nd Armored Brigade Fight Staff space. Regulation enforcement is on the scene and the scenario is ongoing, officers stated.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp stated on social media, “We’re preserving the victims, their households, and all those that reply the decision to serve in our hearts and prayers.”
