Deontay Wilder returns to the ring on April 4, taking on Derek Chisora at London’s O2 Arena. This heavyweight clash tops the inaugural Misfits Pro boxing card and streams live on DAZN.
Wilder’s Path Back to Victory
Wilder, holding a record of 44-4-1 with 43 knockouts, aims for his second straight win. After an undefeated streak of 42-0-1, he endured a tough stretch from 2020 to 2024, posting a 1-4 mark. Key setbacks included back-to-back knockout losses to Tyson Fury, followed by a knockout victory over Robert Helenius. He then fell to Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang before securing a knockout against Tyrrell Herndon in June.
At 40 years old, Wilder steps into a UK ring for the first time since 2013, when he faced Audley Harrison. Known as “The Bronze Bomber,” he shifts focus from rumored bouts, such as one with Oleksandr Usyk, to lead Misfits Boxing’s debut professional event.
Chisora’s Recent Surge
Chisora enters with a 36-13 record, including 23 knockouts. The 42-year-old veteran has notched three consecutive triumphs over Gerald Washington, Joe Joyce, and Otto Wallin since a 2022 knockout defeat to then-WBC champion Tyson Fury.
Throughout his career, Chisora has tested himself against top heavyweights like Oleksandr Usyk, Joseph Parker, Dillian Whyte, and Vitali Klitschko, solidifying his status as a seasoned contender.
