Red Carpet Romance at Pre-Grammys Gala
Demi Lovato and her husband Jutes shared affectionate moments on the red carpet at the pre-Grammys gala in Beverly Hills on Saturday night. The couple, married since May 2025, appeared deeply in love as they exchanged kisses amid the star-studded event.
Lovato turned heads in a bold black sequin gown featuring daring cutouts and a plunging halterneck design. She went braless for the look, pairing it with strappy heels and simple diamond stud earrings to highlight her figure. Jutes complemented her elegance in a sharp black double-breasted suit, white shirt, and slim black tie.
The pair posed for photos with a kiss before gazing into each other’s eyes, beaming with joy.
Transformation and Weight Loss Speculation
Over the past five years, Lovato has undergone a significant body transformation, shedding 50 pounds. Observers speculate that she may have used GLP-1 agonist medications, such as Ozempic, which has gained popularity among celebrities for weight management.
The FDA approves only three such drugs specifically for weight loss: semaglutide-based Wegovy, liraglutide-based Saxenda, and tirzepatide-based Zepbound. Others are intended for type 2 diabetes treatment. Public figures who have openly discussed using these injectables include Oprah Winfrey, Kathy Bates, Amy Schumer, Kelly Clarkson, Whoopi Goldberg, Serena Williams, Meghan Trainor, Elon Musk, Rebel Wilson, Chelsea Handler, Sharon Osbourne, and Tori Spelling.
However, many stars have slimmed down without confirming methods, including Selena Gomez, Mindy Kaling, Melissa McCarthy, Khloé Kardashian, Lana Del Rey, Christina Aguilera, and Ricki Lake. Lovato has neither confirmed nor denied using Ozempic but recently shared a gym selfie on Instagram.
Instagram Reflections and Personal Milestones
In a recent Instagram post to her 260.6 million followers, Lovato reflected on the year. “What a year!” she wrote. “Snow, slopes and snuggles. Wholesome fun and games and still serving c***y. Married era honeymoon with my honey. It’s not that deep! Leo [season and] nostalgia outside. Baby’s first fashion week! Thankful. The most wonderful time. 2025, you’ve outdone yourself.”
The couple met in 2022 during recordings for Lovato’s eighth studio album, Holy Fvck. They wed on May 25, 2025, in Santa Barbara. Jutes, a 34-year-old Canadian, celebrated the year on Instagram: “Best year of my life by so much. I got married to my best friend. I went on my first headline tour that somehow tripled in size by the time it was over. I got on billboards, magazine covers, performed on TV and did a bunch of stuff I didn’t think was still possible for me… dreams I was about to give up on came true this year.”
Jutes begins his 16-date Far from Dilworth Tour on May 2 at The Garage in Glasgow, Scotland. Lovato performed hits like Heart Attack, Sorry Not Sorry, and Sorry to Myself on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest in Las Vegas on Wednesday night. She launches her 23-date It’s Not That Deep Tour on April 8 at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Career Highlights and Health Journey
In an October interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Lovato discussed tour preparations as a Laneige ambassador. “I’m definitely going to, like, up my strength training and cardio because I feel like I’m going to be doing more dancing,” she said. “So, my back has to be in good shape. This is not a 23-year-old body anymore. Like, we have to take care of it and get it ready for tour.”
Lovato debuted in dramatic acting as pregnant Seattle resident Nova in Stephanie Laing’s Tow, screened at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. Roadside Attractions and Vertical secured U.S. distribution rights last September for the film, starring Rose Byrne as a homeless woman fighting a $21,634 tow bill.
She also executive produces Veronica Rodriguez’s Jonas Brothers musical, Camp Rock 3, premiering on Disney+ this year. Lovato, who draws 29 million monthly Spotify listeners, survived a near-fatal 2018 heroin and fentanyl overdose in her $8.3 million Hollywood Hills home, resulting in three strokes, a heart attack, legal blindness, hearing loss, and brain damage.
Her career began in 2002 co-starring with Selena Gomez on Barney & Friends.
