Illinois gubernatorial candidate Darren Bailey introduced the lack of his son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren in a helicopter crash in Montana on Wednesday.
Bailey, a Republican, and his spouse Cindy introduced the deaths of their son Zachary, his spouse Kelsey, and their two younger youngsters, Vada Rose, 12, and Samuel, 7, in a submit on social media. A 3rd little one, Finn, was not within the helicopter and is alive, the assertion stated.
“Darren and Cindy are heartbroken by this unimaginable loss. They’re discovering consolation of their religion, their household, and the prayers of so many who love and take care of them,” Bailey’s marketing campaign stated in a press release.
“The Baileys deeply recognize the kindness and help they’ve acquired and ask for privateness as they grieve and maintain their family members shut throughout this tough time,” the assertion continued.

Bailey is working to unseat Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker. He beforehand served as a state senator in Illinois and misplaced a gubernatorial race to Pritzker in 2022.

Throughout that marketing campaign, a Chicago man was charged with sending Bailey a demise risk. Scott Lennox, 21, was charged with three felony offenses: threatening a public official, phone harassment and harassment by digital communications.
Lennox was accused of leaving Bailey a voicemail threatening to “mutilate and kill” the Republican, in accordance with the Chicago Solar Instances.

Illinois State Police found that Lennox allegedly used his cellphone to make the threats, in accordance with the Instances. Chicago police stated Lennox admitted to making the threats.
