To the editor: It’s arduous to imagine that Gov. Gavin Newsom is probably going contemplating a run for the presidency in 2028 (“Newsom must cease kidding round. He’s operating for president,” July 21). His resume in operating California will not be one that will encourage confidence that he may lead our nation. We now have a few of the very best taxes within the nation, highest gasoline costs and highest home-buying prices. We’ve spent $24 billion on homelessness over a five-year interval, but we nonetheless have the largest homeless inhabitants. We’ve spent billions on a bullet practice that appears unlikely to be accomplished.

Perhaps our governor might spend the remainder of his time period making an attempt to resolve a few of these main points that have an effect on the lives of so many in our state.

Janet Polak, Beverly Hills
