California mayor urges residents to remain inside amid immigration raids

The mayor of an Inland Empire metropolis is urging residents to remain indoors and be cautious of individuals they have no idea amid ongoing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations within the space.

“Keep house and don’t open the door to strangers,” Perris Mayor Michael Vargas mentioned throughout a video message on Instagram.

Town posted the video in Spanish and English Wednesday after receiving experiences of ICE operations within the space.

“We urge all residents to stay calm, keep indoors when attainable and know your rights,” Vargas mentioned. “Don’t exit except obligatory.”
