Bunnie Xo addresses rumors about her marriage to country star Jelly Roll, clarifying that it is not open while disclosing she continued escort work during the early days of their romance.
From Troubled Past to Country Music Power Couple
Bunnie Xo, formerly Alisa DeFord, shares her journey in her upcoming memoir Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, set for release today. She describes her path from a homeless teenager in Las Vegas, through battles with drug addiction, domestic abuse, and seven arrests between 1999 and 2006, to her time as an escort before transforming her life.
During their initial dating phase, Bunnie continued booking clients while Jelly Roll toured. “He would be on tour and I would book dates while he was on the road,” she stated. “He just always respected what I did as a hustler and I always respected what he did, and we both have never tried to change each other.”
Debunking Open Marriage Rumors
Bunnie describes their marriage as “free, but not open.” She emphasizes, “It’s completely closed now, in case anybody wants to know.” Early in their relationship, influenced by unstable upbringings—including preachers and politicians cheating, and her father’s failed relationships—they adopted a fluid approach to avoid hurt.
“We just said, ‘Hey, look, if you’re out on the road and you meet somebody, just tell me about it. I don’t want to find out about it later,'” she explained. “It wasn’t like we were swingers… It was just more fluid, like… ‘We don’t believe in monogamy right now so, if there’s something that you want, just be honest about it.'”
Family Plans and Intimacy Challenges
Married for nearly a decade and raising Jelly Roll’s children, Noah and Bailee, the couple pursues IVF for a baby. “I will tell you that we will have a baby,” Bunnie confirms. “We’re excited. We both have baby fever.”
Prior to Jelly Roll’s 300-pound weight loss, the pair faced intimacy hurdles. “We always had a sex life, but there were mountains and valleys,” she shared. Now at 265 pounds without GLP-1 drugs, his transformation brings renewed energy. “His new zest for life is so childlike and just giddy,” she says.
Jelly Roll’s Weight Loss Journey
Jelly Roll aims for the cover of Men’s Health by March 2026, having shed 275 pounds since 2020. His documentary A Year for a Life, released in January, details his food addiction struggles. Low testosterone early on impacted his sex life, leading to lifelong replacement therapy.
“Now it’s a totally different thing. I’m chasing her around the house,” he describes their playful dynamic. “I’m like a teenage kid again!”
