Voters in New England’s most populous metropolis are casting ballots Tuesday in a mayoral election amid a brand new crackdown by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Massachusetts.
The voting comes as Democratic Mayor Michelle Wu of Boston, who’s searching for re-election to a second four-year time period, is pushing again in opposition to federal immigration enforcement within the metropolis.
The Division of Homeland Safety introduced on Sunday that “ICE launched ‘Patriot 2.0’ to focus on the worst of the worst felony unlawful aliens dwelling within the state of Massachusetts, following the success of Operation Patriot in Could.”
