Emotional Social Media Post
I’m A Celebrity champion Angry Ginge, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, shared a touching tribute on social media to his 19-year-old cousin Harley, who passed away recently. The 24-year-old content creator opened up about the profound loss and outlined his plans to honor his relative during a recent event.
Morgan appeared at the Match For Hope football match wearing a black armband, a gesture traditionally used by athletes to mourn a loved one. He encouraged fans to support Harley’s family through a GoFundMe campaign aimed at covering funeral expenses.
Personal Reflections and Call for Support
In his post, Morgan explained the significance of the armband, stating, “I will be wearing a black arm band like footballers do when you lose someone. Two weeks ago, one of my cousins Harley passed away, he was only 19 and a Manchester lad as usual, same place as we’re all from. So I’m wearing the arm band for him, for his family and so I thought I’d let you all know beforehand. He’s also got a GoFundMe if you want to donate a quid or 50p if you can or a fiver – anything you can, feel free. I’ve also donated so I’m not doing one of those things where you do and I don’t, don’t worry, but yeah it would mean the world to their family.”
The campaign has raised more than £16,000 so far, with Morgan personally contributing £3,000 to aid the grieving family.
A Loving Tribute to Harley
The GoFundMe page features a heartfelt message describing Harley’s vibrant personality: “The smile he had could light up any room and I cannot understand or even imagine how much pain his family is going through so let’s make it as easy as it can be for them and help support them. Please give as much or as little as you can, anything will help to give him the best day possible.”
Harley passed away on January 10, leaving behind a devastated family and circle of friends. The tribute portrays him as “a beautiful, funny, loving, mischievous, caring lad with his whole life ahead of him. He was the life and soul of any gathering and would light up the room with his infectious smile, humorous personality and let’s not forget his rapping – we all know he loved a good rap. He was an incredible son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, always making everyone around him smile and laugh. So let’s continue to show his family how much he was cherished and provide them with the support they need during this devastating time.”
Morgan’s Recent Milestone
This poignant moment follows Morgan’s celebration of his successful media career with the purchase of his first home for £420,000. The new build includes a bright kitchen-diner, two high-spec bathrooms, large gardens, a hot tub, covered patio, and a spacious driveway.
