Emblems in Destiny 2 plays a major role in showcasing a player’s account. It acts as a visual banner to heighten a Guardian’s inventory aesthetics, as emblems can be shown off in a fireteam, roster screen, and any social menu. Bungie often puts some of these emblems for free across the board, alongside difficult content in-game, and behind store offers as well.
Hence, in some cases, players like to earn these emblems by completing challenging activities as well, and put them up for display to showcase their achievements.

Launch Destiny 2, and then head to Collections. Here, open the Flair section, then the General tab, and you will find the emblem you just redeemed from the website.
