Actor Bruce Campbell said he was diagnosed with a “treatable” but not “curable” type of cancer.

“I apologize if that’s a shock — it was to me too,” he said Monday in a post on X. “The good news is, I’m not gonna go into any more detail. I’m posting this, because professionally, a few things will have to change — appearances and cons and work in general need to take back seat to treatment.”

Campbell, 67, says he plans to “get as well as I possibly can over the summer” so he can tour this fall for his new movie “Ernie & Emma.”

The actor, best known for his roles in “The Evil Dead” horror franchise, said there are several conventions this summer that he will have to cancel.

“Big regrets on my part. Treatment needs and professional obligations don’t always go hand-in-hand,” he wrote. “That’s about it. I’m not trying enlist sympathy — or advice — I just want to get ahead of this information in case false information gets out (which it will).”

Campbell ended his post by thanking his fans and saying he has a great support system around him.
