As Mike Vrabel might well know, Asante Samuel has been out of the league for nearly 15 years. However, Vrabel’s former teammate is still paying attention to his former Patriots organization. That is, at least enough to catch wind of the national story centering around Vrabel and Dianna Russini.

Samuel posted about it on social media, lumping President Donald Trump into the fold in a public question. The post was made on X on Thursday and asked fans who they’d choose to learn from as a “leader/mentor.”

“If you had to choose one. Who’s your pick to be your leader/mentor 😅 Mike Vrabel Or Donald Trump,” Samuel posted.

Of course, the post appeared to be a dig at both Vrabel and the president, as both have been hit with scandalous rumors and reports about their lives off the field. The post appeared to place both in a negative light, hinting at an anti-Trump and anti-Vrabel stance.

Jason Whitlock leads responses to Asante Samuel’s Mike Vrabel query

The query caused a tsunami of comments. One comment was from the oft-outspoken Jason Whitlock. However, Whitlock didn’t come forward with his choice. He did not have the only comment that declined to clearly answer the question.

“silly question,” Whitlock responded.

“I’m moving,” another replied.

“I would hate to be either wife,” one posted.

Other fans took sides, with some taking Drake Maye’s coach and others taking President Donald Trump.

“Are you stupid? Donald Trump 100%,” one chose.

“A used up jock with underlying CTE Or Pres 44-47 DJT for me,” another picked.

“Easily holding my nose but easily Vrabel,” one decided.

With both set to lead their teams and make appearances on television into the fall, fans will have plenty of time to see the two in action before taking sides. Either way, the hypothetical question serves as food for thought for fans with strong opinions about the coach and the president.

Of course, with the mid-term elections (and much of the Republicans’ power at stake in the legislative branch) around the corner and Vrabel’s 2026 season potentially decided by January, both coaches could face a much different outlook in 2027 if things go poorly in 2026.
