9-year-old boy on e-scooter with brother killed by suspected drunk driver in Koreatown

A 9-year-old boy was killed and his older brother injured Thursday after they have been hit hit by a suspected drunk driver in Koreatown whereas they have been using e-scooters.

The Los Angeles Police Division responded to experiences of a deadly visitors crash shortly earlier than 7:30 p.m. The unidentified driver of an RV was southbound on New Hampshire Avenue and turning left onto 4th Road when his automobile collided with the brothers, the LAPD mentioned in a information launch.

Paramedics arrived on the scene and decided that the 9-year-old boy, recognized as Nadir Gavarrete, died on the scene from his accidents. His brother was taken to the hospital in critical situation, based on the Los Angeles Hearth Division.

The unidentified RV driver remained on the scene and was arrested on suspicion of driving beneath the affect. There have been no different reported accidents and the incident is beneath investigation, the LAPD mentioned.
