PHILADELPHIA — Three individuals have been killed and 10 others injured in a capturing early Monday in a South Philadelphia neighborhood, authorities stated.
The three individuals who died have been adults, and two of the wounded have been juveniles, Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel instructed reporters. The capturing occurred shortly earlier than 1 a.m. alongside a residential avenue in Grays Ferry, he stated.
“We now have quite a few rounds that have been shot on the block,” Bethel stated.
Police stated one individual with a weapon was taken into custody.
Bethel stated police had already responded to the identical block late Saturday into early Sunday and a few arrests have been made.
It wasn’t instantly recognized what prompted the capturing.
“That is coward, want-to-be-thugs stuff,” Bethel stated.
The capturing occurred after different shootings within the metropolis and elsewhere across the U.S. over the Fourth of July weekend. These included a minimum of eight individuals struck by gunfire close to a South Philadelphia nightclub.
