Tired of shows like Bridgerton and Love Is Blind getting all the attention? Watch With Us understands.

In addition to hosting some of the most popular shows on streaming, Netflix also has plenty of hidden gems in its expansive TV library.

If you’re looking for a great binge-watch this weekend that’s a little more under the radar, we’ve chosen three shows that are well worth your while.

Our first pick is The OA, a terrific sci-fi series that was unfairly cancelled after two seasons despite high ratings and a passionate fan following.

Tired of hearing about Fallout and Bridgerton? Looking for something to watch this weekend that goes against the grain? Watch With Us can help with that. We understand there’s almost too much TV to watch, and it can get exhausting hearing about the same popular shows over and over again. If you need something a little more lowkey, […]

‘The OA’ (2016-2019)

Series creator and executive producer Brit Marling stars in The OA as Prairie Johnson, a young woman adopted at birth who has been missing for seven years. When she suddenly turns up back home, her return brings with it some unsettling revelations: Prairie, a blind woman, can now see, she has mysterious scars on her back and is now calling herself the “OA” (which stands for “original angel). While her adoptive parents and the FBI are eager to learn what happened to her, the OA will not comply with their requests.

Despite favorable reviews from critics, appearances on “best of” lists and an avid fanbase, Netflix cancelled The OA after the conclusion of its second season back in 2019. Having ended on a cliffhanger, the decision sparked outrage among viewers, and no reason for the cancellation has even been given. While costar Jason Isaacs did hint at a possible return in an interview from last year, two seasons is all you get to whet your appetite for now. The series is a compelling, genre-bent sci-fi story that tackles heavy themes and embraces an unconventional style that resonates with viewers.

‘American Primeval’ (2025)

American Primeval dramatizes the events of the Utah War in 1857, a violent clash between Mormon settlers, Native American tribes and the U.S. military, while specifically centering on the events surrounding the Mountain Meadows Massacre. The series stars Betty Gilpin as Sara Holloway, a mother who flees with her young son after becoming a wanted fugitive for the murder of her wealthy husband. Together, they end up finding a found family as they confront the lawless brutality at the heart of the American West.

American Primeval is a gripping limited series drama that takes a real historical event that might be lesser known to the general public and turns it into a rich, textured story about violent power struggles between cultures and religions during that time period. Unlike other depictions of the Old West that romanticize that period, American Primeval embraces a brutal and cynical realism that is refreshing. While immersing fans with beautiful production design and cinematography, the show also draws you in with magnetic lead performances from Gilpin and Taylor Kitsch.

‘Cunk on Earth’ (2023)

From Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker comes this wildly entertaining British mockumentary series starring Diane Morgan as ill-informed investigative reporter Philomena Cunk — who previously led Charlie Brooker’s Weekly Wipe and Cunk on Britain. In Cunk on Earth, Cunk travels the globe interviewing real-life experts like Martin Kemp and Nigel Spivy about the world, while Morgan as Cunk evokes a hilarious foolishness and pitch-perfect comedic timing.

Netflix is giving the best Valentine’s gift for its many, many subscribers — a library full of hit movies and TV shows to binge-watch. That library grows a bit bigger in February, when the streamer adds at least one must-see new movie and/or irresistible show practically every day. At the top of Watch With Us‘ […]

You don’t need to be familiar with Brooker’s previous Cunk works to enjoy Cunk on Earth. The series blends high and low humor for a spot-on sendup of ultra-serious anthropology documentaries. Confidently ignorant and totally earnest, Morgan excels in the role of Cunk, as the character does her best to wrap her head around history and science. Cunk on Earth is British deadpan humor at its finest, and the show feels destined to be a cult classic.
